E&E Exhibit Solutions wins RFP bid from client Machine Solutions Inc. for custom island exhibit
Last September, Machine Solutions Inc., a Flagstaff, Ariz. process and testing equipment supplier to the medical device manufacturing industry, presented E&E Exhibit Solutions—along with three other major custom houses— a formal RFP for its new 20×30 custom island exhibit project for Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West 2012 in February at the Anaheim Convention Center. The underlying challenge for the exhibit RFP was to showcase a technical product in a relaxed and people-oriented environment. E&E Exhibit Solutions returned the winning exhibit design, and Machine Solutions Inc. (MSI) selected the trade show display company as its custom island exhibits solution provider.
RFP Challenge: Technical yet Personable
According to Jason Cronwall, director of global marketing at MSI, the company had several exhibiting objectives to meet the requirements of both its sales and marketing teams. Sales staff needed ample space to demonstrate several, large new products to existing and potential customers. At the same time, they wanted to increase the amount of time attendees spent in the booth space, ultimately leading to more in-depth meetings and discussions away from other booth activities For marketing, Cronwall wanted to reinforce MSI’s brand image of high-value, advanced technology and best-in-class service. The new display also had to be easily found in the exhibit hall, provide an attractive and inviting space for the target audience and give booth visitors a memorable experience.
E&E’s Exhibit Design Solution
Conference attendees couldn’t miss MSI’s 20×30 large custom island exhibit booth on the show floor. Clients and prospects could easily see MSI’s logo and branding elevated high above the booth on a circular hanging sign featuring vibrant custom fabric graphics. A lightweight, overhead canopy with matching fabric graphics provided added branding and down-lighting for six of 10 interactive product display kiosks, many of which broadcast informational videos on flat-panel monitors. The product display kiosks also featured hidden wire management for equipment cords and locking storage for additional materials. The custom-branded fabric canopy created a partial ceiling to keep attendee attention in the booth and MSI products, yet the open space contributed to the relaxed atmosphere. At the rear of the booth, MSI booth staff held semi-private meetings in a designated conference area to continue discussions started by the product kiosks. The large custom island exhibit also featured a friendly reception area and storage for equipment and marketing materials.
Positive Results for MSI
The RFP and exhibit production process took five months to complete, and the results were worth it. MSI planned well in advance and had clear objectives for what the booth needed to do for both marketing and sales. These objectives combined with a well-thought out and executed exhibit design helped MSI to improve upon its results from previous shows. “The booth met all of objectives outlined in the RFP. Our lead generation was up 20 percent over the previous year, and I believe the new exhibit design helped us to achieve that,” Cronwall said.
